I am a trustee in the East African Whale shark Trust (EAWST) and Universeum (www.universeum.se) helps this organisation in the struggle to save the whale sharks. We inform Universeum visitors about sharks vulnerable situation and collect money from them to support EAWST.

The money are used for

  • monitoring and sighting of whale sharks
  • whale shark research, tagging and tag retrieval
  • education programmes in schools and for tourists
  • re-education of fishermen, introducing environmentally friendly fishing techniques
  • buying environmentally fishing gear
  • education material for schools

 We have just emptied the collection box again and will today send €1456 to EAWST.
