The Swedish organization The Perfect World Foundation annually awards a person who raised awareness about nature, climate problems or animals in crisis. Greta Thunberg will be the first Swedish to be awarded the prize and last year's winner was the BBC profile Sir David Attenborough - who received the award during last year's award ceremony in Gothenburg.

- The Perfect World Award is awarded to internationally recognized profiles that work to highlight nature, climate or animals in crisis. According to the organization's CEO, Ragnhild Jacobsson, today the award is Scandinavia's most prestigious award.

In addition to Greta Thunberg and the BBC profile Sir David Attenborough, the award has previously been awarded to primate scientist, Dr Jane Goodall, world renowned oceanographer Dr Sylvia Earle, the initiator of the Nairobi ivory surf, Dr Richard Leakey and Mark Shand - known for his work in rescuing the Asian elephant, as well as the brother of Prince Charles' wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

- Greta is awarded the prize for creating global awareness of the climate issue, in an unprecedented way. Through its work, The Perfect World Foundation hopes for a faster change in the energy issue. Emissions of fossil fuels are today the biggest cause of rising carbon dioxide and thus global warming, says Ragnhild Jacobsson.

Ragnhild also says that global warming, in turn, is the biggest threat to our nature and our animals.

- The Perfect World Foundation is planning for an international manifestation for the climate where the starting shot will be a climate conference in Gothenburg on September 16, 2020 - where Greta Thunberg is invited to become one of the keynote speakers, concludes Ragnhild Jacobsson.
